If too much salt has kept you out of the soup aisle lately, listen up, Dr. McDougall’s new Light Sodium Soups may be just the things to throw into your shopping cart today … and your bag or briefcase tomorrow.

The six soups have 330 to 360 milligrams of sodium–far less than the usual 500 to 1,500 mg per serving for single-serve containers. But you’d never know it from the taste. There’s not a hint of bland or boring. And all the ingredients are vegetarian (began, even) and free of bad fats.

The Lentil Couscous–made with whole-grain couscous and curried Middle Eastern flair–packs an impressive-for-soup 12 grams of protein and an reno nevada plastic surgeons impressive-for-any-food 9 grams of fiber. The smoky, warm-your-insides Split Pea is in the same ballpark, while the White Bean & Pasta supplies 7 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber.

You’ll find less fiber and protein in the Tomato Basil Pasta

Funky Mopeds Ride To Drink Drivers’ Rescue

Evening News (Edinburgh, Scotland), Oct 16, 1999

Byline: IAN JOHNSTON CATHERINE LYST

YOU’VE driven to the office, gone out after work, had one drink too many and somehow you’ve got to get home.

Up to now either you or your car would have been stuck – but one for the road is set to become the solution rather than the problem.

For Scottish water polo internationals Keith Anderson and Ramon Valvona have formed a new moped-powered company to offer the tired and emotional a lift home.

Anyone who has had too much to drink can ring the company, called Last Orders, which will act as a cross between a taxi and a car collection service.

The scooters enable employees to drive to the customer’s location, where they fold up the bikes and pop them in the boot.

Then they get behind the wheel of the client’s car to take them home before retrieving their scooter from the car ready to drive to their next job.

Last Orders drivers will be fully insured to drive any car up to the value of $40,000. The first two-and-a-half miles of a journey costs $10, with every mile thereafter costing $2.50 per mile. “We are aiming first and foremost to cut drink driving, ” Mr Valvona, said. “Our message is don’t drink and drive, don’t take a chance, let us take you home.

“We first saw the scheme operating in Perth, Australia. We thought it would work in Edinburgh because of the increased parking and transport restrictions. People can’t leave their cars or they get parking tickets or towed away
